Solheim Cup moments: Suzann Pettersen stars as European rookie
Suzann Pettersen will soon be bidding for a Solheim Cup victory at Gleneagles several 16 years from playing a role.
Pettersen won four games as a newcomer in the 2003 contest in Sweden, together with the highlight coming when she drifted Annika Sorenstam from the Saturday fourballs.
The group were all-square with two holes to go in their game where the duo needed a birdie at the 17th.
Sorenstam had other ideas and holed a 20-footer from the fringe to halve the hole, even until the point-clinching minute was produced by Pettersen at the last.
Diaz missed her allowing Pettersen to snatch the win by offering a lead to a Europe to the Sunday singles and holing a 10-footer on the final green.
Europe would go on to win the competition 17.5-10.5 in Barseb??ck Golf & Country Club, with Pettersen ending the week alongside Sorenstam as joint-top scorer for the hosts.
