Unai Emery asked Arsenal players to vote for club captain, says Rob Holding
Unai Emery asked Arsenal gamers to vote for their preferred captain, defender Rob Holding continues to be revealed.
Emery introduced a pool of five skippers following his appointment but watched his original choices decimated by summer time departures of both Aaron Ramsey, Petr Cech and Laurent Koscielny.
Granit Xhaka has up to now worn out the armband from the Premier League this term but is yet to persuade at the function and was jeered by his own supporters during last weekend's win over Aston Villa, although Mesut Ozil is your only other member of this initial five still in the club.
After Ozil was substituted during their 5-0 win over Nottingham Forest from the Carabao Cup, holding, who captained the side, has revealed the Arsenal boss recently ran a poll of the room to choose who receives the armband.
"He enjoys his five captains. We all did a vote another week so we'll see what happens and watch who gets called," Holding said.
"It was only a case of writing down names and then giving them to the manager and he will undergo them obviously with his input - and we'll see what happens.
"I have no idea [when an announcement is going to be made], but there is a lot of leaders in that group who are helping each other out and pushing each other around.
"Now that we've got these five captains that the manager has earned it is spreading the direction group instead of having one person to order it. You are getting more input, it is generating a fantastic atmosphere."
While he was unwilling to show his choice of skipper, Holding described Xhaka as"a excellent leader" and also praised the influence of seasoned summertime signing David Luiz.
"I really like Granit from the living area. I think he is wonderful. He is really switched to individuals being late, folks using the phones. He is quick to dish out the fines," Holding added.
"I believe he's a great leader and only another positive person to have in the living area.
"He is very demanding and also makes demands of us. He places accountability on ourselveswhich can be important as a leader."
Asked if Arsenal have more leaders than critics believe, Holding said:"As an example. You can see it in training. How David Luiz comes and when he's speaking before the group he talks really well.
"He talks highly people he's a fantastic addition to earn."
Holding marked his return after taking the armband out of Ozil on Tuesday by scoring just seconds in the nine-month accident lay-off, along with the 24-year-old has aspirations of doing the job.
"I would really like to become a priest and being leader of Arsenal is incredible. It'd be a terrific feeling," he explained.
"We'll find out what happens in the next couple of weeks. If I get that, then I'll be more than happy and how exactly to do it."
