Bevan French caught his Betfred Super League hat-trick as Wigan went a step closer to securing second position.
The Warriors were under the cosh for a while and got off to a shaky start, but all shortly changed that as Wigan led 14-0 at the break.
French finished his hat-trick five minutes before teenaged half-back Harry Smith came off the bench to indicate his first team debut while further tries from Thomas Leuluai and Zak Hardaker put the Warriors in control.
Dan Sarginson and Oliver Gildart grabbed tries late , while Catalans' points came from Warriors along with Lewis Tierney both scoring tries while Sam Tomkins added the conversions.
Catalans dominated the opening 20 minutes since they camped inside the half of Wigan, but defence against the likes of Liam Farrell, George Williams and Tony Clubb guaranteed the Dragons were not able to cross .
When Farrell was found guilty of a dangerous late hit Greg Bird wigan found themselves down to 12 men on 18 minutes.
Wigan bombed a terrific opportunity to open the scoring in the 22nd minute when the ball came free before Oliver Gildart did exactly the exact same and Williams hacked , but unfortunately for the Warriors the ball did not bounce the way and the Dragons recovered ownership.
The Warriors left Catalans pay as a fantastic ball gathered from Williams to discuss for not taking their opportunities. Because he spreads the ball which led to a penalty 21, he had been struck late with the knees from Mickael Simon.
Hardaker converted the penalty and the try for an 8-0 lead.
French soon added a second attempt as he showed lots of composure and pace to beat the covering defence after an error from Arthur Romano - the Dragons currently looked a beaten side and Hardaker's conversion made it 14-0.
French needed five minutes of the second half as he stepped beyond Mickael and Romano Goudemand to get down to complete his hat-trick. Hardaker converted as Wigan led 20-0.
The Dragons refused to lie down and they shortly found themselves in the scoreboard as former Wigan hooker McIlorum went over from close range, after receiving the ball back in the restart.
It had been Catalans' turn into wreck up the kick-off and full advantage was taken by Wigan. Bevan moved to supplier from try-scorer as he managed to get the ball away. The full-back was unable to convert Wigan were from sight.
Until Smith was able in his very first actual participation leuluai extended Wigan's lead further as he danced his way past a tired Catalans defence.
Gildart and Joe Burgess combined down the left before the latter sent a kick back infield for the adolescent to get down, and then he then converted his own score.
Wigan hit the 40 markers in the previous ten minutes when French turned provider as he hacked on Sarginson's kick for his middle and score.
Until Gildart had the last say with a try to maintain that the success, the Dragons managed to catch their second attempt through Tierney.
